The Social Security Disability (SSDI) program is a federal insurance program that provides benefits to disabled workers and their dependents. 

A disability must be expected to last at least 12 months or result in death to qualify for benefits. 8. Skin disorders: There is a range of conditions that affect the skin (bacterial infections, viral infections, fungal infections, allergic reactions, skin cancers and parasites).
9. Endocrine disorders: The endocrine glands produce hormones, and can have multiple impairments.
10. Congenital disorders that affect multiple body systems: There are several disorders and impairments that fit into this category, including Tay-Sachs disease, caudal regression syndrome, phenylketonuria, trisomy X syndrome, fragile X syndrome and fetal alcohol syndrome.
11. Neurological disorders: Disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves throughout the body are known as neurological disorders.
12. Mental disorders: Issues with mental capacity or function include autism, ADHS, learning and intellectual disabilities, as well as various mental disorders like schizophrenia, depression and PTSD.
13. Cancer: Many common cancers are disabling, especially if they are in the late stages or reoccurring.
14. Immune system disorders: Some disorders and impairments can affect the immune system, including Lupus, polymyositis, scleroderma, vasculitis, HIV and more.
